Apply Payload Engineering, Software, Operations skills to launch a payload and with R&D project. Design, build, launch, operate high altitude balloon (HAB) over 6-weeks from July to August 2025. Become immersed in research experience mostly online by applying R&D to code, sensor fusion integration, experiments, software, data analysis & systems. Earn 3 CR of credits and apply engineering,math, and aerospace principles, to model flight performance, GNC, TT&C, and more.

Curriculum Schedule
The Certificate course provides up to 5-10 hours per week of live synchronous instruction with 75/25 Lectures/Labs(research). With 10+ guest lecturers and instructors, the Course is designed to fit the schedule of young professionals and full-time students. Cohort discusses build of high altitude balloon during In-person component (optional) of course for around 2 days. Attendance for most lectures and labs is mandatory to receive Certificate.
Payload Launch and Details
We encourage you to participate inperson for 2-3 days in the HAB Balloon Launch from 2nd/3rd week in August to support build, assembly, operations. Get hands on experience with launch, software, recovery of a spaceflight-ready payload with R&D science goals. Validate 3 Flight ready Boards, ZPB, IMUs, sensors, code, data analysis with mission partners. Costs associated with launch, lodging and day to day expenses may be covered to participate.
